Woodbury voters will decide several local and state races this November, including mayor, two Woodbury City Council seats, Washington County commissioner, and seats in the Minnesota Legislature.
Woodbury’s mayor and City Council races are nonpartisan. The City Council consists of the mayor and four at-large council members serving staggered four-year terms. There is no city primary election, and all candidates who file by the July 28 deadline and do not withdraw by July 30 will appear on the November general election ballot.
State legislative races are partisan, while the county commissioner races are nonpartisan.
Judicial elections are also nonpartisan. Minnesota Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and District Court judges appear on even-year ballots. Candidates for district court must be licensed to practice law in Minnesota and meet the state’s eligibility requirements.
This guide will be updated throughout the filing period as additional candidates enter races or candidate information changes. Readers interested in learning more about a candidate’s platform or policy positions can visit each candidate’s campaign website (which is hyperlinked to their name).
