Herman Miller, the iconic furniture design brand, will open a store at Woodbury Lakes by the end of May, a company spokesperson said in an email to Woodbury News Net.
It will be the company’s first dedicated showroom in the Twin Cities.
“The vibrant shopping and gathering destination at Woodbury Lakes includes many ideal co-tenants, offering a diverse mix of retail, dining and lifestyle brands that enhance the overall guest experience,” the spokesperson added.
The exact date and opening festivities will be announced later.
According to a news release from Woodbury Lakes, Herman Miller will open a 2,243-square-foot showroom near the east entrance by American Eagle. It will be near the Shake Shack that is also opening soon.
The brand offers shoppers an opportunity to explore ergonomic seating, work solutions and home furnishings in a curated, design-focused environment.
MillerKnoll Inc. owns Herman Miller and 14 other brands, including Design Within Reach which has a store in Edina.
The company has aggressive plans to grow, hoping to double its store footprint over the next several years. The strategy is to add stores in high-end suburban malls like Woodbury Lakes in part to capture customers who work from home and want office-grade ergonomic furniture.
“Herman Miller has forged critical relationships with the most visionary designers of the day, from mid-century greats like George Nelson, the Eames Office, Alexander Girard and Isamu Noguchi, to research-oriented visionaries like Robert Propst and Bill Stumpf,” said Herman Miller’s spokesperson.
