True Lens Community Media’s move into its newly refurbished Central Park location was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, May 12. The facility now has a dedicated podcast room and larger studios.
True Lens was established in 1981, but residents may be more familiar with its former name: South Washington County Telecommunications Commission. True Lens serves the cities of Woodbury, Cottage Grove, St. Paul Park and Newport, as well as Grey Cloud Island Township. Its production team specializes in creating videos, podcasts and social media content viewed on local public, education and government (PEG) cable channels, YouTube and social media platforms.
The ceremony was well attended by Washington County commissioners; mayors from Woodbury, Cottage Grove and Newport; Woodbury City Council members; City of Woodbury officials; and business owners from both Cottage Grove and Woodbury.
As True Lens is a member of both the Cottage Grove Chamber of Commerce and the Woodbury Area Chamber of Commerce, two ribbons were cut simultaneously, requiring both maneuvering and good humor.
