A business that began as a hot dog cart 25 years ago in New York City is planning to open a location in Woodbury Lakes.
A colorful fence wrapper proclaims the news at the planned site, which used to be a Jos. A. Banks clothing store. The fast-casual dining spot is across the street from American Eagle and across the parking lot from Trader Joe’s at the shopping mall.
Shake Shack’s mission is “Stand For Something Good,” with a focus on premium ingredients, sustainable design and community investment.
Woodbury News Net has reached out to the company for more details on the restaurant including when it expects to open.
The Destination: Woodbury website lists Shake Shack as coming soon.
“Shake Shack, the fast casual restaurant chain best known for their gourmet burgers and special sauce, is coming to Woodbury,” the website states. “This will be the fifth location in the Twin Cities and the first in the eastern metro.”
Other locations in the Twin Cities are in Bloomington, Edina, Maple Grove, Minneapolis-St. Paul airport and Roseville. In addition to Woodbury, Shake Shack is planning to add locations in Minnetonka and St. Louis Park.
Under CEO Rob Lynch, Shake Shack is expanding, with plans to open 55-60 new locations this year, aiming for a long-term goal of over 1,500 Shacks.
