The Minnesota Lottery announced that a winning ticket for the Dec. 24 Powerball was sold at Jerry’s Foods in Woodbury. The $100,000 was awarded on the Powerball with Power Play.
For those unfamiliar with that lottery option, for an additional $1 per ticket the Power Play feature multiplies non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 times. The multiplier is randomly selected right before each drawing.

Prizes above $50,000 can only be claimed at the Minnesota Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville. An appointment is recommended. If these are your numbers, you have a year to claim your prize and should expect payment two weeks after you present your ticket.
The names and cities of lottery prize winners above $10,000 are automatically considered private data unless a winner chooses to opt in to publicity. “Private data” means that this information is known to the lottery but cannot be released to the public.
Current federal tax law requires the Lottery to withhold 24 percent in federal income taxes, and current Minnesota state law requires the Lottery to withhold 7.25% in Minnesota state income taxes.
