The City of Woodbury will join a number of organizations and businesses next week in honoring those who served.
Most business promotions below include active military and veterans and require appropriate identification. It is wise to call the business in advance to confirm the publicized specials.
Events
Veterans Day Observance, Nov. 11, 11 a.m., Veterans Memorial, Woodbury City Hall. The brief ceremony will include remarks by Mayor Anne Burt and Mike Mensing, president of the Woodbury Lions Club, honoring the men and women who served our country.
Minnesota Zoo will be honoring current military personnel and military families during the entire month of November. Free admission for veterans and active military personnel. Immediate family members (up to 6 people total) will receive 50 percent off admission. Advanced ticketing required.
Veterans Day Film Festival Historic Courthouse, 101 Pine Street W, Stillwater, 12:30 p.m., in partnership with Lakeland PBS, Pioneer PBS and the Minnesota Military & Veterans Museum. The festival features special matinee screenings that salute the stories, courage and legacy of those who have served.
Businesses
Local McDonald’s are also offering free breakfast combos to veterans, active-duty military members and their families on Veterans Day, November 11, as a token of appreciation. This is a nationwide promotion for the brand.
Cabela’s Veteran Appreciation Breakfast, Nov. 11, 9-10 a.m., 8400 Hudson Rd. Veterans are invited for breakfast, coffee, story-sharing, and challenge coins. Free.
Hy-Vee is offering all veterans and active-duty military a complimentary breakfast from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Veterans Day.
Starbucks is offering a free tall brewed coffee at participating U.S. stores. In addition to the complimentary coffee, Starbucks is donating $200,000, split between the USO and the Wounded Warrior Project, to support programs that enhance the well-being of service members, veterans, and their families.
Dunkin’ will give free donuts to current and former military members while supplies last.
Olive Garden will provide a free entree for veterans and active-duty military with a valid Military ID.
Bruegger’s Bagels is offering a complimentary medium hot or iced coffee. This deal is available nationwide with any breakfast purchase.
All veterans & active military members can get a free meal on November 11 at participating Chili’s Grill & Bar restaurants. Available in-restaurant only for select items.
Little Caesars Pizza is offering a free lunch combo to veterans and active military members from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Veterans Day. The combo includes four slices of their popular Detroit-style deep-dish pizza and a 20-ounce Pepsi product.
Also on November 11, veterans dining in at Applebee’s receive one free entrée from a special menu.
Texas Roadhouse is offering a free dine-in or carry-out meal voucher to veterans from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., redeemable through May 30, 2026.
Red Lobster offers a 10 percent military discount on Military Mondays and a free shrimp meal on Veterans Day.
On Nov. 11, from 12 to 3 p.m., Smoothie King will offer a free 20 oz. red, white, or blue Smoothie to all veterans and active-duty military.
At all Green Mill locations, active-duty military and veterans can choose from a small two-topping Deep Dish Pizza, Desert Fire Pasta, Millhouse Club Sandwich, or Cobb Salad with Chicken.
Culver’s will give a free one-scoop sundae when you show your military ID, VA veteran ID, or driver’s license with a veterans designation. In addition, 10 percent of all sales that day will go to Hero Expeditions, an organizations group that helps veterans.
Jiffy Lube will provide free oil changes to veterans on November 11.
Active-duty, veterans, and reserve members will get a 5 percent military discount at Discount Tire.
Kohl’s offers a standing 15 percent in-store discount every Monday to active military members, veterans, and retirees, including their immediate families.
