Even though we’ve had a lovely, extended fall, winter is coming, along with s-n-o-w.
The City of Woodbury is preparing by making sure the streets are without obstructions and easy to plow. An important part of the strategy is the Winter Parking Ban, which went into effect November 1 for all public streets citywide.
The regulation has two parts:
- No on-street parking from 2-6 a.m. from Nov. 1 to April 1. This ban applies even if there is no snow on the ground.
- No on-street parking whenever two or more inches of snow have accumulated until after the street has been completely plowed. This ban applies to any hour of the day, any time of the year.
With this approach you don’t have to check if a “snow emergency” has been declared or keep track of alternate-side street parking.
City staff recommend you take the following steps in order to avoid a $37 administrative citation:
- Park vehicles in your driveway or another off-street location during restricted hours.
- Move vehicles off the street before snow events.
- Remind guests and visitors of these rules to avoid.
