WOODBURY, MN (WNN) – Marko Belak was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men’s Hockey Defensive Player of the Week for February 10.
The Woodbury-Native is a Sophomore Goaltender for Gustavus Adolphus College.
Belak helped the Gusties to their first victory over Saint John’s since 2015 with a 3-0 shutout win on February 8.
Belak made 25 saves in the win, after recording a career-high 36 saves in a 2-2 overtime tie the previous day. Belak stopped all five shootout attempts by the Johnnies to secure the shootout advantage.
Belak attended Cretin-Derham Hall. As a senior he was the goalie on a team that made it to the state high school tournament.
