Paul Huffman
Paul Huffman is a member of the Advisory Board for Woodbury News Net where he is responsible for developing plans and guidance for corporate governance and business operations. Paul served as an active-duty nuclear submarine officer for thirteen years and retired as a Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve. Following his naval service, Paul held a variety of leadership roles in commercial nuclear power in Wisconsin and Minnesota, retiring from Xcel Energy as General Manager Nuclear Fleet Operations.
Paul serves the broader Woodbury community as the President of the Woodbury Days Council, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit responsible for planning and organizing the annual Woodbury Days community festival. He has also held a leadership role in the League of Women Voters, serving terms on both the LWV MN and LWV Woodbury Cottage Grove Area Boards of Directors as Voter Service Director. Paul continues to support LWV MN as a volunteer staff member responsible for election and redistricting policy.
Paul received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Furman University, a Master’s degree in National Security Affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School, and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. He also completed a post-baccalaureate certificate in Election Administration from the University of Minnesota Humphrey School for Public Affairs, and has held additional licensing and certifications in nuclear plant operations.
