WOODBURY, MN (WNN) – Expedition Credit Union has returned to Woodbury with a branch office on Queens Drive near Target.
“We are thrilled to be back in Woodbury,” Paul Dammann, president/CEO of Expedition Credit Union, said in a news release. “Our membership has been anticipating the new branch and are excited to have a space in such a convenient area. Now located near the new METRO Gold Line, the Woodbury branch is a favorable stop for anyone’s commute.”
Expedition Credit Union began in 1957 to serve members of what became Education Minnesota, the statewide teachers union. Now membership is open to residents of Anoka, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, and Washington counties.
At one time, the credit union, then known as United Educators Credit Union, had a branch office 6789 Upper Afton Road in Woodbury. A spokeswoman said it closed during the COVID pandemic because social distancing wasn’t possible. The news release described the new branch as a modest space in a modern atmosphere with a full-service team.
“It’s such a joy to be a part of the credit union cooperative movement,” Mike Elliott, Woodbury branch manager said. “I’m grateful for the community support we’ve received from the local chamber, local members, and the local community at large. We are happy to be here.”
Expedition Credit Union also has branch offices in Apple Valley and Coon Rapids. It’s part of a co-op network that provides members access to more than 5,600 shared branches and more than 60,000 surcharge-free ATMs.
