WOODBURY, MN (WNN) – Adam Jones, from Woodbury, is making his professional debut with Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis.
He’ll have a key role in the production of Disney’s Frozen The Broadway Musical, running from April 15 through June 15.
Jones said he was ecstatic when he found out he would be playing Sven the reindeer, as well as some ensemble roles.
Jones told Woodbury News Network, “It’s a huge opportunity, and I’m thrilled to work with such an incredible cast at the Children’s Theater.”
He has been acting since elementary school starting at Ashland Productions, a youth-centered production company in Maplewood.
At Hill-Murray High School he performed in a number of productions including Holiday Inn, CLUE, Little Women, A Christmas Carol, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and All Shook Up.
He’s currently pursuing a double major in marketing and music business at the University of St. Thomas.
Jones says he’s always had a deep love for storytelling, especially in the context of live theater. “There’s something magical about performing on stage, and I’ve never been drawn to TV or film acting. The live, interactive nature of theater is what truly captivates me.”
His Sven costume is intricate and layered, with a lot of detail that adds to the character – bringing Sven to life.

Jones says Sven is “naturally curious and loves to have a good time, but he’s also incredibly loyal and dependable.” He continued, “I think the way we’ve brought him to life in this production will definitely make him an entertaining character.”
The big question for anyone in a production of Frozen is: Has the cold ever bothered you? Jones says no. “I’ve lived in Minnesota my whole life, so I’m pretty used to it. Actually, I prefer the cold over the heat, especially when I’m sleeping!”
