WOODBURY, MN & LAKE ELMO, MN (WNN) – Construction is slated to begin soon on the Lake Elmo Park Reserve Swim Pond Play Area.
Construction was originally expected to begin in April 2025, but the weather has allowed for a March start.
In the fall the existing playground equipment was removed.
The project will expand the play container, use a 100% poured-in-place rubber surfacing to promote accessibility, add additional swings, new shade structures, more seating for caregivers, and multiple custom play structures.
The equipment will feature animal and nature themed equipment.
Work on a concrete walk and retaining wall will also be done.
Last September, volunteers for Kids Around the World, a Rockford, IL-based nonprofit organization, dismantled and removed the playground equipment.
