WELLINGTON, FL (WNN) – Ella Fruchterman of Woodbury and her horse “Hannah Montana W” were victorious at CDIU25, a dressage competition for horse riders under 25.
They won in the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle class in “Concours de Dressage International Officiele,” part of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI).
Fruchterman performed to Latin pop freestyle music. She and the 2009 Danish Warmblood mare “Hannah Montana W” earned a new personal best of 69 percent to claim first place in the class.
“This is a brand-new freestyle, so I didn’t have high expectations going into the arena,” said Fruchterman. “I wanted to have a clean ride, be in rhythm with the music, and overall I am super pleased with how Hannah went today. I am so proud of her.”
Fruchterman said the music selection made a lot of sense. “We wanted to do something fun with a heavy beat for Hannah. She can hold it well and it is something I look forward to, hearing people clap their hands and dance with us.”
She rode to a mash-up of “Bailando”, “I Like it Like That”, “Havana”, and “On the Floor”.
