You can experience the historic Washington County Courthouse in Stillwater by candlelight on Oct. 10 and 24. Tours will be held at 7 p.m., 7:45 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. The $10 tour shows off areas normally closed to the public including the basement, sheriff’s residence, and 1900s county jail. The tour includes the history of the site as well as “fun, slightly spooky stories.”
The tour is recommended for ages 10 and older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. There will be dim lighting, low-hanging objects, stair-climbing, and uneven terrain. The tour is not ADA accessible. Registration is required.
