Strengthening the Bonds of Community.
One Story at a Time.
Who?
We are a nonprofit, independent organization developing a dedicated, trusted news source for Woodbury. Our volunteer leadership team includes long-time Woodbury residents with expertise in journalism, public affairs, communications, and non-profit operations.
What?
Create a source of news and information about Woodbury to strengthen the bonds of community. The news site will serve as a watchdog for local government. It will provide a source of truth for news and information from city council meetings to community events to road closures. Our content will be free for everyone allowing us to connect and engage residents of all backgrounds.
Where?
We will cover news and issues in Woodbury as well as provide information on community events and activities.
When?
We are raising money now and hope to launch the site this fall.
Why?
Woodbury has not had a newspaper dedicated to the community since the Woodbury Bulletin ended operations in 2020. We’ve received many comments from people who support a dedicated news site for Woodbury.
“I miss our newspaper. It’s so hard to know what’s going on in Woodbury.”
“I hate finding out about events after the fact.”
How?
We are raising money to launch the news site. We are creating governing documents for our non-profit organization that will oversee the website. We envision hiring a paid, professional editor to exercise news judgment, ethical decision making and editorial independence, working with reporters to create trusted content.
