As summer construction winds down in Woodbury, drivers can expect both new relief and old frustrations.
Several detours are set to end, but a handful of fresh road closures remain on the calendar. City staff are coordinating with school transportation officials, but bus routes will still be affected.
First, the good news:
Cottage Grove Drive, from Eagle View Boulevard to the north end, opened to traffic Wednesday, August 28.
- Friday, August 29, saw trails along the south side of Bailey Road from Woodlane Drive to Radio Drive, as well as trails along Radio Drive and Hargis Parkway adjacent to M Health Fairview Sports Center, open.
- The following roads and trails have opened:
- Interlachen Parkway from Valley Creek Road to Pioneer Drive
- Pioneer Drive from Timberwood Road to Juniper Lane
- Lake Road from Torrey Drive/Magnolia Drive to Blue Ridge Drive
- Tamarack Road will open all westbound lanes of traffic.
And the new challenges are:
- Beginning early in the morning on Tuesday, September 2, westbound Valley Creek Road is scheduled to close between Interlachen Parkway and Tower Drive.
- Radio Drive remains open to north-south traffic. Motorists will be directed to detour via Woodbury Drive, Tamarack Road, and Bielenberg Drive.
- Access to City Hall will be limited to a right turn in and right turn out from the eastbound lanes of Valley Creek Road.
- After approximately two weeks, Valley Creek Road is scheduled to open one westbound lane from Interlachen Parkway to Radio Drive.
- All westbound lanes are scheduled to reopen from Interlachen Parkway to Tower Drive in early October.
- Beginning early in the morning on Tuesday, September 2, Eastbound Tamarack Road is planned to close between Bielenberg Drive and Radio Drive, for approximately one week for pavement milling and paving. Motorists will be directed to detour via Bielenberg Drive, Hudson Road, and Radio Drive.
