WOODBURY, MN (WNN) – A toddler nearly drowned Sunday at Valley Creek Apartments, according to a statement from the Woodbury Public Safety Department.
Emergency responders were called to 1707 Century Circle at 3 p.m. when a child, thought to be about two years old, was found under water at the clubhouse pool.
“Responders arrived to find bystanders performing CPR,” the statement says. “Responders performed life saving measures, including CPR, and were able to gain a return to the patient’s heartbeat and breathing.”
The girl was transported to St. Paul Children’s Hospital and is in critical condition.
“The circumstances that led up to the near drowning are still under investigation,” the statement adds.
