WOODBURY, MN (WNN) – With so many new – and established – restaurants in Woodbury it can be hard to know where to eat. The Roundabout turned to the experts, you, our readers. We’ve dubbed those making recommendations as Woodbury Eaters (WE) for this story. Join us now for the first course of what looks to be a delicious tour of Woodbury.
WE#1 came up with a two-plate special recommending both Yum! Kitchen and Bakery and Hazelwood Food and Drink. Yum! is a great option for coffee and conversation with a friend, but WE#1 reminds us that it is also a good dinner choice. She recommends the Tarragon Chicken salad while her husband goes for the salmon (wondering if he goes for the mustard version or the Szechuan with the spicy green beans on the side). At Hazelwood she insists on the Mediterranean Angel Hair Pasta with the added pulled chicken.
WE#2 offers a day of Woodbury restaurant feasting starting with Fried Chicken and Waffle at Hope Breakfast Bar. Next stop is just across the parking lot at Ramen Station. WE#2 raves about the Tonkotsu Ramen, even suggesting her willingness to bathe in the rich pork broth (WNN does not recommend this). Dinnertime finds the family at The Tavern Grill with Dad building his own burger, the kids going for pizza, and WE#2 hitting the appetizer menu for Bang Bang Shrimp, Sesame Stix, and Thai Lettuce Wraps.
WE#3 makes her best suggestions by ethnic choices. First is a newcomer to town, Legendary Spice. Seeing it packed with Asian diners makes her sure the flavors are authentic. Her kids keep asking to go back for Chicken Fried Rice, Orange Chicken, Sesame Chicken, and Mongolian Beef. When she wants the best Italian food in Woodbury, WE#3 heads for Angelina’s Kitchen. The family loves Fusilli Pesto, but when mom is looking for a lunch treat, she always goes for the Eggplant Parmesan Sub.
WE#4 recommends Duc’s Restaurant especially for the Coconut Curry-with Chicken. She also shared that the sweetest part of the restaurant is Duke Kim, the owner, who is very active in the community and a willing supporter of many causes and organizations.
WE#5 singles out 3rd Act Craft Brewery for its beer, food, outdoor space, and live music on Fridays. He is impressed by the selection of craft beers on from lagers to IPAs. The brewery’s pizza, with a crispy crust and fresh ingredients, also is recommended.
WE#6 recommends Southern Social for its craft cocktails and cuisine with a modern Southern take. He enjoys appetizers like the hush puppies and corn bread as well as items like the chicken tenders, Nashville chicken sandwich, and brisket.
WE#7 suggests you can’t go wrong with a number of choices at Crave American Kitchen & Sushi Bar. That includes the sushi rolls like the Spicy Tuna Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll, and the King Kong Roll. She also enjoys some of the classic American kitchen offerings: Chicken & Avocado Egg Rolls and Crispy Brussels Sprouts, as starters, and Steak Frites (bistro filet with truffle fries) and Lobster Cavatappi (mac & cheese with lobster) for main dishes.
