WOODBURY, MN (WNN) – There are only two seasons in Woodbury and this year Road Construction is going to be a doozy! The pipeline needed to connect 20 wells and most homes in town to the new Water Treatment Plant crosses many major roads.
The current schedule calls for closing Radio Drive between Valley Creek Road and City Centre Drive for about two weeks. Don’t plan on driving from City Hall to Kwik Trip and back again without a detour.
The project website provides closure maps not only for impacted roads but for trails too.
Previous closures continue on Interlachen Parkway, Pioneer Drive, Dale Road, and trails near Bailey Elementary.
Fox Run Work
Roadway rehabilitation projects have begun in several neighborhoods. The majority of the work is scheduled for the Fox Run area with additional work scheduled for Central Park Place, Settlers Ridge Parkway, and Promenade Lane.
The primary objective is to replace aging roads and curb surfaces throughout the neighborhood as well as some utility and trail improvements. Additionally, traffic calming measures will be implemented on a number of streets within the project area.
Information, schedules, and maps are available from the city at this site.
Century Avenue: Washington County has plans to improve the pavement on Century Avenue between Highway 94 and Lake Road this summer.
I-94: The Minnesota Department of Transportation has just one project scheduled for Woodbury for later in the season (August to October). It will modify the I-94 eastbound exit ramp intersection at Radio Dr to improve pedestrian connections and install new signals.
There are however, multiple MNDoT projects scheduled in the metro area as well as statewide that will like impact commuters and recreational travelers.
