WOODBURY, MN (WNN) – A math teacher at Skyview Middle School in Oakdale has been placed on leave after being charged with one count of criminal sexual conduct with a child under the age of 13.
The criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County District Court charging Ho Tu Duong, 46, of Maple Grove states that the alleged abuse took place between 2019 and 2022. In March of this year, the abuse was reported to police by the child’s mother who had a previous relationship with Duong. The girl was allegedly abused in a home in St. Anthony.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reported that in a letter to parents the superintendent of the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale school district said Duong isn’t allowed on district property and cannot be in contact with students. The district also stated the victim is not connected to the district. Duong has been a teacher in the district since 2011.
Court records show Duong posted bond and is scheduled to appear in court May 22.
