WOODBURY, MN (WNN) – In this week’s ASK WNN, we’re focusing on road construction at one busy intersection.
Jeff M. asks, “What’s the plan for what I consider to be the most dangerous intersection in Woodbury; the Valley Creek/ Manning Avenue intersection.“
The answer is evolving. A corridor study is being conducted with Washington County and the City of Woodbury for a majority of Valley Creek Road (County Highway 16).
The study is analyzing current and future needs. It will look at highway capacity, intersections, access, right-of-way, drainage, pedestrian and bicycle accommodations.
Currently, Washington County has a “high priority” to add an eastbound right turn lane or a roundabout at the Valley Creek Road & Manning Road intersection.
The county also has a “high priority” on pavement resurfacing with and possibly expanding the shoulders of Valley Creek Road between Manning Road and Settlers Ridge Parkway.
There’s a possibility of realignment and re-grading the area, but that is a low priority.
There was an open house on March 18 to discuss possible plans for Valley Creek Road from Interlachen Parkway to Manning Avenue (State Highway 95).
The public can visit the project website WashingtonCountyMN.gov/ValleyCreek.and submit input until April 1.
