WOODBURY, MN (WNN) – The Metro Transit Gold Line is slated to start service on March 22.
Buses are already running the route as part of tests before riders are on-board.
As part of the opening celebration, free rides will be available from Saturday, March 22 through Friday, March 28. The free Gold Line trips are courtesy of Ramsey and Washington counties.
The Gold Line will run from the Woodlane Drive Park and Ride station to downtown St. Paul with stops in Saint Paul, Maplewood, Oakdale, Landfall and Woodbury. The bus rapid transit (BRT) line will travel in designated lanes along Interstate 94.

The Gold Line will have frequent, all-day service in both directions, seven days a week. Additional enhancements include heated shelters, lighting, parking and security features.
Metro Transit plans to extend the Gold Line to downtown Minneapolis in 2027.
