Henry Chmiel, whose parents practice dentistry in Woodbury, has committed to play Hockey for Arizona State University.
The soon to be 17-year-old announced the move on his Instagram account writing, “I am humbled and honored to announce my commitment to play Division 1 hockey and further my education at Arizona State University. I am grateful for my family, friends, coaches, and teammates who have helped me along the way.”
Chmiel has been playing hockey while attending hockey powerhouse boarding school Shattuck-St, Mary’s in Faribault since 2022.
Arizona State is an up-and-coming hockey program that swept #1 ranked University of Denver in Denver earlier this season.
Arizona State Hockey plays in the same conference as the University of Minnesota – Duluth and St. Cloud State University.
