WOODBURY, MN (WNN) – An open house for public comment on a long-range plan for the Battle Creek-St Croix River Regional Trail will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, April 21, at Woodbury City Hall.
In a release, Washington County states the regional trail will be an east-west paved route running through east Maplewood, Woodbury, and Afton. The trail would connect to the Central Greenway and St Croix Valley Regional Trails, Battle Creek Regional Park, and the St Croix River.
“At the open house, attendees can weigh in on different route options, speak with trail experts, and ask questions about the trail’s development and future plans,” the release states. “The public can visit the project website to view an online engagement opportunity and provide input anytime from April 21 to May 5. There will be no formal presentation at the in-person or virtual open houses.”
Regional trails are accessible, paved multi-use paths that connect to key regional destinations. They are typically 8-10 feet wide and separated from road/vehicle traffic. Examples include Hardwood Creek Regional Trail and Point Douglas Regional Trail.
Regional trail long range plans provide guidance for the future trail route alignment, trail amenities, and corridor management. Project updates will be posted on the project website. For more information, contact Senior Planner Connor Schaefer at 651-430-4303 or [email protected].
