NOTE: The program is technically an “assessment” and not a loan, as the city is not allowed to give loans.
WOODBURY, MN (WNN) – In this Week’s ASK WNN, we’re focusing on a loan program established to help homeowners pay for the removal of trees infected by the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). The program was authorized by the Woodbury City Council in February.
The program will provide loans up to $20,000.
Bill S. asks, “Who can I contact regarding the Emerald Ash tree removal loan program?”
Woodbury Senior Community Relations Coordinator Jason Egerstrom tells Woodbury News Net that the program is not yet available. City teams are finalizing details of the effort.
Egerstrom said, “Once it is available, we will send out an InTouch email to the Public Works updates list, post it on our social media accounts, and publish it in a future newsletter.”
City staff hope the program will prompt homeowners to remove the trees before the city has to enforce condemnation and removal.
